Fun and useful! : Heath/Zenith SL-6164-B Wireless Battery-Operated Musical Door Chime Kit with 64 Tunes, White
I moved into an "inlaw" apartment above the garage of a typical house and garage property. I receive many deliveries, and so I installed the doorbell by the front gate, about 40 feet away. It works like a charm, right through one wall. I can locate the receiver anywhere inside my apartment and hear it quite well. I enjoy all the tune selections. It has a nice melodic "music box" effect, and has never yet failed to go off when the button is pushed.
It worked so well that I installed a second button inside of the curbside mailbox, about 60 feet from the receiver. The mail carrier in this area drives from box to box, and he really appreciates the ability to ring the bell located inside the mail box, when he needs a signature or has a package too big for the mailbox. He never has to leave his mail truck. I hid the extra button inside the mailbox, out of the sight of the neighborhood children, as it might be tempting for them to ring it for fun if it were seen outside of the mailbox.
The second button was sold separately, and has the ability to ring a second sound to make it possible for me to tell by the tune which bell has been rung. The second tune is just "ding dong", but the first bell can ring dozens of melodies. Also, both bells can be made to ring the same tune, if you do not want a musical clue about which bell is ringing. Theoretically, one could add as many extra buttons as wanted, although only two tunes would play, at maximum. My landlady thinks I'm very "high tech" to have installed this simple, wireless doorbell system. I am very happy with it, and will take it with me when I move!
